Big, Big, Big, Big Book # 3: Anna Karenina

Anna Karenina So I think I'm going to pass on The Origin of Species because it doesn't look like a read that will be fun while also being challenging. If you want to learn about evolution, read The Greatest Show on Earth. But Anna Karenina looks like a really amazing book, despite name confusion. I read twenty pages, and I was hooked.

"Anna Karenina seems to have everything – beauty, wealth, popularity and an adored son. But she feels that her life is empty until the moment she encounters the impetuous officer Count Vronsky. Their subsequent affair scandalizes society and family alike and soon brings jealously and bitterness in its wake. Contrasting with this tale of love and self-destruction is the vividly observed story of Levin, a man striving to find contentment and a meaning to his life – and also a self-portrait of Tolstoy himself."

I'm looking forward to tackling and hopefully enjoying this 800+ Russian novel. Review tomorrow, though obviously it took me more than a day to read Anna Karenina. I've been reading it over spring break, when I have hours for just...reading. I'll see you tomorrow. Well, you know what I mean.
